Eleanor Wright’s sculptural work explores the ambiguity of things and how they should be used, generating an interplay of values around utility, display, craft and industrial processing. Working at differing scales with an eclectic material language, particularly textiles, her work often suggests the performativity of materials and everyday objects in relation to the body. Her spatial assemblages are influenced by the places she spends time in, negotiating the juncture between private and public spheres.
